How to increase the battery life while using Live Tracking
Live Tracking is an incredible feature! However, it decreases the device's battery life compared to just using SMS functionality. On this page, we give you two tips that will increase your device's battery life while using Live Tracking.
Changing the refresh rate
Live Tracking works on the basis of the device determining its current location and then sending it over the mobile network to our server. The more often the device tries to determine its current location, the more battery it will consume. By default, the SweTrack Extreme determines its current location every ten seconds. By increasing this time interval, you can conserve battery. This is done with the command *livefrekvens*XXX*, where XXX is replaced by any number of seconds between 10 and 999.
Changing the upload rate
The upload rate determines how often the device sends its location data to SweTrack Live through the mobile network. By default, this is done once every minute, but you can increase this value to conserve battery. The upload rate is changed with the command *liveuppladdning*XXX*, where XXX is replaced with any number of seconds between 60 and 999.
